Colder morning lows in the single digits with many subzero wind chills. In fact, we saw some of the coldest wind chills this season with Hettinger dipping to -9. Here were the actual air temperatures as of 5 am cst.
A few breaks in the clouds later on will make way to a partly sunny afternoon. Wind stays lighter out of the northwest around 10-15 mph. Highs return to around 20 degrees below average with mostly 20s this afternoon. Tonight, mostly cloudy with lows returning to the single digits and the teens.
Thursday, we stay cold in the 20s for highs but also increase the chances for light snow into the afternoon. Very light accumulation with this next system since it's moving so quickly and not holding a ton of moisture.
We stay cold into the weekend with highs remaining in the 20s. The next best chance to see any temperatures above freezing will be on Saturday in the Southern half of the state. The cold weather pattern may let up by the middle of next week.
