Tom grew up in Phoenix and began a career in radio moving him to Chicago, Houston and finally Anchorage. It was in Anchorage that the weather bug bit him and he went back to school to study atmospheric sciences at Mississippi State and Portland State Universities. Tom worked part time as a TV weatherman in Anchorage which helped him to get the experience needed to earn his AMS Seal of Approval.
In 1997, Tom started working at KXMC in Minot. He considers himself lucky to have joined a very strong news team who was already number one in the market and he has been here ever since.
Tom says, "who else gets to say he is on part of a team who has never been beaten in the ratings? That is only possible because we have a complete news team that has earned the trust of our viewers. I take that responsibility seriously."
Minot is Tom's home and he intends to stay here. He enjoys riding motorcycles, playing racquetball with his son and has a Black Belt in Taekwondo. If you see him at the YMCA grab your racket and be ready to play!
