Thursday's PM Forecast Update 12/7

Warming temps, plenty of sunshine and still breezy.

From the KX Storm Center:
Get ready for even more warming. This warm-up will take us through the weekend. High temperatures will climb through the 30s & into the 40s and lows will be in the 20s with a few teens through the beginning of the work week. All of these changes are due to a shift in our weather pattern. A ridge of high pressure is building to our west and will extend across the state, as we wrap up the work week and go through the weekend. This ridge will not quite center its self over the Dakotas. Rather, it will mostly stay well to our west and only bring a slight warm up. This is still good news, as far as temperatures go. On the flip-side, winds will stay strong and make it feel cooler than it is. Strongest winds are expected tomorrow and again Monday/Tuesday as our next (weak) system moves through the state.
So, it will be windy Friday with clearing skies and slightly warmer temperatures. Saturday & Sunday will bring more sunshine & continued warming. It will stay breezy through the weekend. By the beginning of the work week, there will be another change-up in our weather pattern.
Through the next 7days, no severe or extreme winter weather is expected. It will be windy at times and high temps will peak, this weekend.
