Saturday's Weather 12/3/17

Quiet conditions are expected tonight along with lows in the upper 20s and around 30 degrees, but these nice calm conditions will not be lasting very long. The winds will be picking up through the day on Sunday and the temperatures will be nearly 10 degrees cooler than they were on Saturday. This will all be due to a cold front pushing through the area. In addition, to cooler temperatures, there is also a chance of snow on Sunday night and into Monday. This round of snow will likely be lake effect, meaning lake induced snow is possible. When you have a 'warm' body of water and a cold air mass it compresses the air and develops snow. With the chance of lake effect snow, it will stay to the south central region of the state. There will also be a chance of snow for the northwest and the northern parts of the state with roughly 2-4 inches possible at most. This will be a total amount snow through Wednesday. The weather pattern begins to calm down going into Thursday. The big story for this week will be the strong winds, cooler temperatures, and light snow spreading through the area. An average high temperature is around 30 degrees and lows around 10.

Tonight, increasing clouds and lows in the upper 20s. Winds south/east and light.

Sunday, light snow in the northwest, otherwise, south and cloudy. Winds east at 5-15 mph. Highs in the lower to mid 40s with a few 30s.

Sunday night, winds breezy at 10-20 mph and lake effect snow possible in the south. Accumulations around 1 inch. Lows in the lower 20s.
