UMary AD Lennon confirms Kotelnicki firing

UMary AD Dale Lennon confirmed the firing of head football coach Josh Kotelnicki after Saturday's 62-27 loss to Minnesota-Duluth.

Lennon, himself a former UMary head football coach, will serve as the interim coach while the university conducts a national search for Kotelnicki's successor.

At a press conference after the game, Lennon said the players had also been notified of Kotelnicki's dismissal, and that they were still processing the news.

"[There's] a lot of emotions that are present," Lennon said. "You just recognize and make sure that the players appreciate the effort that Coach Kotelnicki put into the program."

In four seasons at the helm, Kotelnicki recorded eight wins.
