HS Wrestling: Mandan seeking state title

Mandan wrestling may have lost their opening dual to Bismarck Tuesday, but optimism remains high for another successful season.

The Braves placed third in duals at state last year, and they had a number of high-finishing individuals, including state champion Isaac Berger and top-three finisher Jacob Boehm.

Berger, now a senior, says his goals this year are to dominate as well as take on a leadership role.

"I just approach this season as not just beating guys, but try and beat guys worse than I did last year--some of the guys that I had--and try and get some of the younger guys better," Berger said.

The Braves are next in a Nov. 30 triangular against Legacy and Century.
