Lexus Mosbrucker is a triple threat for Bismarck High volleyball. The senior leads the team in blocks, kills and aces.
Time is winding down in Lexus Mosbrucker's senior volleyball season.
"I guess I know it's my last year," Mosbrucker said, "but it hasn't clicked yet."
Lexus only has two -- possible three matches -- left in her high school volleyball career and her goal is a state championship, but she also enjoys competing with the other seven seniors.
"It's fun playing together now," Mosbrucker said. "When we come down to the end of it, all of us seniors are graduating, so it's sharing those opportunities."
For most of her senior year, Lexus primarily played middle hitter. However, first year head coach Josette Timian thought she would be a better fit at opposite.
"Have a couple of other girls step in and play defense and get our blocks close," Timian said. "I was able to focus on where our hitters were hitting and our blockers were blocking. So she was able to go to the outside."
Coach Timian said Lexus maneuvers the ball better than most players at the high school level.
"She's able to turn it and find the right angles," Timian said. "She's just a smart player."
Next, Lexus heads to college, but she's not sure where yet.
"I guess," Mosbrucker said. "I just getting down time and seeing where I feel most comfortable."
On Nov. 16, Lexus and Bismarck High play Valley City in the opening round of the Class A Volleyball State tournament at 7 p.m.
