HS Soccer: Demons react to winning state title

The Bismarck High Demons can pop the apple cider as they secured the 2017 state soccer championship. As can be expected, the players were emotional after the win.

"I was trying to keep [the emotions] back," midfielder Mason Stotz said, "but when one person starts crying it keeps going."

"About that last minute," Zach Devine said, "everyone was on the same page. Everyone was firing on all cylinders. We were pushing hard. We got it up. At that point, you could just see, they kind of just bogged down on their side."

"We've been working really hard," Tresor Mugwaneza said. "I remember when we would wake up on Saturday mornings when it's raining and work out butts off. It's a really good way to end the season."

"A couple of years ago," Zac Schmidt said, "I was on a state title team with a couple of these guys and I didn't really play that much. It's a completely different feeling. It's surreal. It's unbelievable. It's really amazing."

This is the second state title for Bismarck High in the last three years.
