Trinity Health has expanded support for athletes by offering a sports medicine center at the Maysa Arena in Minot.
Athletes from all over can come in to see a certified athletic trainer for free evaluations.
The assessments are offered on a no appointment basis to any athlete regardless of age, school or sport.
This is one of the only centers in the area to offer free services to the community.
"I'm here for all sports primarily in the the Maysa Arena now helping with the youth hockey and helping with Minot high hockey both boys and girls but I'm available for all sports," said athletic trainer John Sandy.
"Parents would like the fact that somebody is here like I said it's like a safety blanket, if something happens to their kid they know that their going to get good care and quickly," said assistant hockey coach Jordan Willert.
The center is open Monday through Friday from 3 to 6 p.m.
