Soccer Team Makes Donation

Minot, ND - One life lost to suicide is one too many.

But the sobering fact is that statistics show there's one suicide every three days in North Dakota.

This is Suicide Prevention Week in the state - a special week that began with the Out of the Darkness walk.

And tonight, the fund-raising, and awareness-raising effort continued at Minot's Optimist Soccer Complex.

That's where the Minot High team took time at the half of its game to donate money raised to help fight suicide.

One of the team's seniors lost his sister to suicide two years ago - and says his teammates were quick to help out.

(Hadley Thomas, Minot Soccer Player) "Everyone was aboard right away with the idea. It was perfect. They were all there supporting us through the time that it happened, too. The idea of using a fund raiser through soccer just fit perfectly, everyone was all for it."
