Sheriff's deputy accuses State's Attorney of sexual harassment

Minot, N.D. - A Ward County sheriff's deputy is charging the county state's attorney with sexual harassment and asking for the resignations of the state's attorney and the sheriff.

Timothy Poston made the accusations public at today's county commission meeting.

He claims State's Attorney Roza Larson groped his leg and made an inappropriate comment to him while the two were in a court hearing.

Poston says the county has not taken his allegations seriously and that if the genders in the situation were reversed, it would be a different story.

And he says he may end up taking the issue to court.

"You've got some major HR problems. I'm here to say, hey, let's fix this before it has to be litigated. I don't think you guys want litigation on your hands, I don't really want to go through it, so let's get it fixed," said Timothy Poston, the Ward County Deputy.

The county's outside attorney submitted a report on her investigation of the issue and said that, even if Poston's accusations are correct, they would not rise to the level of harassment.
Larson is quoted in the report saying she doesn't recall the incident and may have put her hand on his leg for support while talking with him at the courtroom table.
