Mother Sentenced in Child Neglect Case

Minot, ND - A Minot woman has been sentenced to two years in prison after a toddler was found with meth in his system.

30-year-old Sheena Lavallie changed her plea to 'guilty' to two felonies - Child Neglect and Endangerment of a Child.

She admitted leaving the boy with a man she had known for only a day. That man handed the child off to a woman who didn't know the boy's name or mother.

Police responded and recognized the child as Lavallie's and tests showed meth in the boy's system.
In addition to the two year prison sentence, Lavallie will be on probation for three years.
