Editor From The Economist Magazine Visits ND

A news editor for "The Economist" magazine is traveling across America to explain to Europeans what life is like outside of the major cities like New York and Washington D.C.

One of the places that the editor, Leo Mirani is visiting is North Dakota.

A topic of interest for Mirani is our rural communities and how they were affected so drastically during the oil boom.

During his visit he is speaking with local leaders, but he also believes that it's important to speak with residents.

"What I've got from North Dakota is understanding I think of what happens to communities when the economy declines and then what happens when it suddenly booms again and how difficult that is to deal with," said Leo Mirani, News Editor for The Economist.

He will return to London in April.

He says that his research on American life will be published periodically.
