The city of Minot is holding a fall clean up week starting today and it goes through Friday.
After the implementation of the new garbage pick up system this past summer.
The city felt it was necessary to give residents a day where they can get rid of large garbage items for free.
Minot will be divided into four zones with the sanitation department focusing on one residential section per day.
"Generally day to day garbage people can fit in the cans that we provided back in July, every now and again you do accumulate some larger items and if you don't want to go to the landfill- if you could hold to it for a few months like I said we'll offering this about every six months," said Jason Sorenson with public works.
Residents can also bring waste to the City of Minot Landfill free of charge by providing proof of residency.
