Minot, ND - The month of December brought 'Caring for the Dakotas' to Good Day Dakota.
Thursday, the YWCA of Minot was featured.
The women's and children's shelter has been serving women for over 100 years.
Lauren Moore, executive director, said the shelter was fortunately able to expand from 17 beds to 21.
Last year, the shelter had to turn people away, but Moore said she hopes this year is different.
As a non-profit, the shelter does receive federal and state dollars.
However, it heavily relies on donations from the public, both monetary or items.
During the month of December, the shelter is involved with the 'Twice Blessed' campaign, with St. Joseph's Community Health Foundation, where St. Joe's will match each and every monetary donation.
