Bismarck welcomes a new meat shop, Williston added a Mexican drive-thru, and two credit unions are becoming one.
Alexus Arthur has this week's business beat.
Schweitzer's Gourmet Meats opened just over 2 weeks ago in Bismarck.
The first Schweitzer's is in Moffit, North Dakota.. and opened their doors in January.
Luke is the owner of the Bismarck meat shop.. following in his father and uncle's footsteps.
He says some of the meats offered at his shop.. you won't find anywhere else.
"We dry age them for 17-20 days and that just brings out even more of the flavor and tenderness in all of our beef that we'll jave in here. Not just the Wagyu, but we'll have North Dakota raised, grass fed, we'll have angus, corn fed cattle, We'll have all different kinds." said Luke Schweitzer, Owner.
He says you can't find their Wagyu meat anywhere else in the state.. thanks to their state-inspected plant in Moffit.
A new tasty and quick place in Williston opened last Friday. Mexican style meals that is made to be on the go. Taco's, burrito's, salads, subs and cheese dogs uses fresh ingredients. The unique part... it's a drive thru.
"You're getting good quality food, fresh food, everyday cooked everyday almost cooked to order so even though it's a drive-thru we're not fast food." said Vickie Geyer, Manager.
The Mexican drive thru has plans to add ice cream to the menu in the near future.
Two businesses will become one. Northern Tier Credit Union and North Star Community Credit Union are merging. Both unions focus on providing the best for their members and by combining the two, members will get the best of both worlds. All the branches will be rebranded to become North Star and will have 10 locations across North Dakota. The next step is to work out the operations such as combining computer systems, then in the future, all the buildings will be North Star. For Business Beat, I'm Alexus Arthur.
