A Championship Weekend

Minot, ND - It's football championship weekend in North Dakota. But that's not the only sporting event on the schedule.

Jim Olson is live where one team is practicing for a chance at five titles in a row.

The Minot High cheer team is showing off its routine right now - they'll be going for a state cheerleading title Saturday.

They'll also be cheering on the Magicians football team tomorrow night as they play for a title at the Fargodome.

Today was "Maroon and Gold Day" around town - and the excitement was ratcheted up right away this morning as the Magi cheer team pumped up the students at Jim Hill Middle School.

Their mission is to get the town fired up for the football title game - plus the state swim meet in Bismarck, the regional volleyball tournament in Mandan, and the cheerleading finals in Fargo.

(Chloe Watterud, Cheerleader) "Oh yeah, it's going to be super fun. It'll be a good time.

I think I could see Chad and Lauren involved in that sort of a cheer routine - how about it?

And remember, KX News will have coverage of all area teams in the busy championship weekend tomorrow and Saturday.
