Pilot injured in small airplane crash near Manning

On Nov. 22, around 1 p.m mountain time, a Piper PA-12 airplane, crashed shortly after takeoff on a small private airstrip near Manning, ND. 

According to NTSB reports, the airplane was not able to gain lift, and the pilot lost control shortly after.

The airplane eventually landed on the trailer of a truck that was located on the same strip that the plane was taking off from.

The airplane was substantially damaged, and the pilot sustained serious injuries, while the passenger sustained minor injuries

The aircraft's destination was the Sloulin Field International Airport in Williston, ND.

The hospital the pilot was transported to, and the injuries he is being treated for have not been released at this time.
