Downtown Dickinson prepares for annual event

More than 400 people are expected to gather in Downtown Dickinson tonight.

Twenty -one shops in the downtown area are participating in Ladies Night.

The event was created about six years ago by local businesses to help get stores exposure before the holiday shopping season.

Gift bags will be handed out with a checklist of shops participating in the event, and all the stores will be holding special sales.

"It brings down a crowd every year, and it just kinda fun to provide the ladies of Dickinson a night out together. They get to stroll around, and we have specials, drinks, and food, " said Danielle Johnsen, owner of Cobalt Closet.

The event runs from 5 p.m to 9 p.m, but gift bags will only be handed out to the first 300 people.
