Weather may have an impact on your mood

Bismarck - Winter is coming -- just not this week.
It's been really warm this week and it seems people are in a good mood because of it.

The pools are shut down for the year and the leaves are falling, but Robert Derwin is doing something unusual for mid-October, watering the lawn.

"Do I like this weather? Yes I do," says Robert Derwin, Bismarck Resident.

Derwin is still keeping the grass green because it is no where near freezing.
He almost thinks it's too hot.

Derwin says, "It makes me happy that the 100 degree days are probably gone for a while."

Brian Keller, Bismarck Resident, says, "This is nice, I like to be able to go outside without having to bundle up or just not have to be able to carry my camelback because it's too hot."

With above average temperatures for mid-October some people like it, some people hate it and it is all on how the brain interprets it.

Deb Bosch, Clinical Social Worker, says, "People who enjoy warm weather are going to be in a better mood when the weather is nice. People who enjoy the winter are going to be a little disappointed that its been so nice and that it isn't getting cold faster."

In other words, you can't please everyone.

"My mood tells myself about this situation so it's how I define it. If I define it as bad and horrible and hate, then I'm going to be more miserable," adds Bosch.

I didn't find any complaints about this weather. Just this guy who's a little frustrated with the change.

Derwin says, "The only thing that I'm sad about is that I'm not going to be able to go golfing anymore, so what's going to happen is that so all summer you're practicing your swing and then what happens, this comes along, it teases you and the next thing you know, you're at the golf dome."
It might be on the warm side now, but this will only last a little while longer.
