Student admits to having handgun in school

Bismarck, N.D. - A high school student is caught on school grounds with a loaded handgun.

On October 3rd- a police officer saw reasonable cause to search a vehicle at South Central High School in Bismarck.

The officer identified the owner of the vehicle as 18-year-old Zachery Roller.

The officer approached Roller as he was coming out of the school.

While he was speaking with Roller, the student admitted to having a loaded handgun in his pocket.

The officer removed the gun which was loaded and had a bullet inside the chamber.

During an interview- Roller admitted that he keeps the gun on him for protection.

He also said he deals drugs and stated that he had smoked marijuana earlier in the day.

A search warrant was granted for Roller's cell phone and his vehicle.

Officers found several messages on his phone which reference him selling marijuana.

In the car- police found several drug paraphernalia items and a total of about 7 grams of marijuana.

Roller is being charged with a Class A felony for possession with intent to manufacture or deliver a controlled substance, a Class B felony for conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance and a Class A misdemeanor for carrying a concealed weapon.
