Bismarck - There are only 21 of them in the entire country...
And 1 is right here in Bismarck.
Happening now, Emily Medalen is live from Solidcore with more.
Good morning, Emily.
Good morning Tim and Amber, yes, Solidcore is only 3 years old, and its few locations in the U.S. are in major metropolitan areas.. except this one.
The CEO, Anne Mahlum, is from Bismarck, and thought this unique form of a work out should make it's way here.
The 50 minute work out is all done on one machine - they call it "Sweatlana.
Each class is different, and is designed to, well, solidify your core strength.
150 different work out moves can be performed on Sweatlana, and Mahlum told me all you need is mental strength to make it through a work out.
She says solidcore is making a huge impact on this generation.
(Anne Mahlum, Owner, CEO, Solidcore) "Fitness is really hot right now, especially in big markets. I don't think we've seen consumers spend the kind of money that they're spending on fitness until recently, in the last five years. For a lot of the millenials, you know, fitness is a priority for us. We're willing to spend the money on the juice cleanses, you know, on making sure our bodies are healthy. It's kind of like our number one priority. So, having spaces that are cool and fun to work out in, accompanied with a work out that actually works, is something I think people find really exciting.
There are never more than 12 people working out at once during a Solidcore class, so that the trainer can be really involved with each one.
Tim and Amber, I'll be right back with someone who says they're addicted to these classes, and they're going to show me a thing or 2 about Sweatlana.
The scrimmage gives coaches a good look at what they have to work with.
