H and M had its grand opening Thursday at the Kirkwood mall. The ribbon cutting took place at noon on the 22nd. Crowds joined the line starting at eight o'clock in the morning.
Agnes McDonald was the lucky $1,000 gift card winner.
"They handed me a scratch off and I scratched it off and I won," said McDonald. She spent the rest of her afternoon trying to spend all of her gift card money, stopping at the register a few times to check if she's maxed out.
Patrick Shaner is the spokesperson for the Bismarck H&M. He was very excited with all the gift cards they were giving out.
"Today, for everyone in line the first 300 people are going to get a scratch off from 10 to 1,000 dollars, which is pretty amazing for them. You can get a lot of great stuff for that price," said Shaner.
Shaner also wanted to let everyone know the incentives the store offers for customers who donate clothes. Anytime a customer brings in clothing items to donate, they will receive a fifteen percent off coupon.
This is the first and only H&M in North Dakota. The second closest location is all the way in Saint Cloud, Minnesota.
