With a harsh, drought-stricken season, an estimated 10% of cattle herds across the state were sold off.

Today, there's another program, available now, to help cattle ranchers devastated by the drought. The Bank Of North Dakota will provide loans totaling as much as 30 million dollars to help ranchers rebuild their herds. The governor, Ag Commissioner, Attorney General and CEO of the Bank of North Dakota met today to give the program a formal "yes" vote. The Bank president explains how their working with local banks to make this easy for everyone.

Eric Hardmeyer; CEO of Bank of ND: "Farmers will just work with their existing banks to access this program. It's something we do every day."

Later this fall, BND will decide on making a similar program for farmers who suffered crop losses during the drought.
