Monday's PM Forecast Update 2/20

An active weather pattern will bring a few changes to temps and precip this week

From the KX Storm Center:
Across the state we have seen a few changes through the last couple of days. The most noticeable changes were last night through this morning. A clipper moved through the Dakotas with widespread rain and some scattered mix. There were a few areas that a decent rain, but accumulations greater than 1/4" (0.25") were more isolated. Since the back side of this system moved East and away from Central ND, we have been seeing mostly sunshine with a light to moderate wind out of the west and continued mild temps.
Through the next several days, expect an active weather pattern to continue. Precip chances will be off/on Tuesday night through Thursday and in the wake of Tuesday's cold front, mild temps will end and daytime highs will return back to a more seasonable range. Even though we are looking at an active weather pattern with daily precip chances as we go through the rest of this week, no significant systems are expected. So, accumulations during the next couple of days are not expected to be very high. Late this week and through the weekend, more sunshine coupled with a cooler feel will be our biggest changes. From Thursday through Saturday & Sunday, lows will be in the teens & 20s with highs in the 20s & 30s and more clouds, next weekend. A few of the long-range models are hinting at precip chances returning by early next week.
Tonight, it will feel a little cool with more clouds rolling in and winds calming down a bit. Lows in the 20s & 30s with a West/SW wind 2-10
Tuesday, mostly sunny to partly cloudy with in & out cover and a few areas of scattered rain/mix late. Highs in the 50s with a few 40s (Northeast/North- Central) and a few 60s (Southwest). There will be a light wind out of the SW/South, 2-12mph.
Tuesday night, partly to mostly cloudy with scattered rain/mix showers expect the transition to mix/light snow as temps fall to near/below freezing. It will feel a little chilly with lows in the 20s & 30s and a South/NW wind 2-10mph. 30% chance of rain/mix.
Wednesday will bring mostly cloudy conditions with cooler temps and scattered rain/mix/snow. Light snow accumulation will be possible for some, but most of Western & Central ND will get < 1" of new snow. So, little to no accumulation is expected to stick. Highs 30s (North) & 40s (SW/SC) with a NW wind 5-15mph. 30% chance for rain/mix/snow.
Wednesday night, mostly cloudy and a little chilly. Lows in the teens & 20s with a North/NE wind 5-15mph & gusty at times.
