The latest Forecast from the KX News Dakota Storm Center.
Some fog is in the eastern half of the state and is expected to burn off throughout the morning. Temperatures are also in the 30s for the morning hours and will continue to warm up into the 50s today with increasing clouds. Wind speeds will pickup through the course of the day, from the southeast, at 10-20 mph and gusting to 30 mph at times as a mild low pressure system comes through South Dakota, allowing for the pressure gradients to be tightly compacted. For tomorrow, expect overcast skies with near average temperatures for highs and a slight chance of showers Tuesday night. The remainder of the work week will have similar temperatures with in and out cloud cover across the area. By the time the weekend comes, temperatures are looking to be on the cooler side in the mid 40s with some light rain showers.
Today, increasing clouds throughout the day with winds picking up. Winds will be out of the southeast at 10-20 mph and gust to 30 mph at times. Highs to be in the 50s.
Tonight, mostly cloudy with lows on either side of 40 degrees and winds continue to be gusty at times shifting east a 10-20 mph.
Tuesday, rain chances minimal,but more so to the eastern part of the state, otherwise, mostly cloudy skies. Highs remain in the 50s. Winds out of the east at 2-10 mph.
Tuesday night, lows below average, near 40 degrees, and winds mainly light and variable from the east. Some light rain showers may develop in areas.
Wednesday, daytime highs near 60 degrees with some sun shining at times, but mostly cloudy. Winds are expected to be from the west at 5-15 mph.
