Bismarck Police arrested two Mandan men in connection with an attempted robbery Saturday night.
They responded to a residence on the 2000 block of Grimsrud drive at 11:22 p.m. There, the homeowner states he saw the two suspects destroy a window to his car. They proceeded to attempt to break down the front door of the home but were unsuccessful. The suspects then went into the back yard and entered the residence through a back door.
The house was occupied by a 35-year-old male and female and 3 children. The woman and children barricaded themselves inside a room while the man grabbed a souvenir bat. One of the suspects motioned as if he had a gun, and both appeared to be under the influence of drugs and alcohol.
The homeowner ordered both suspects to leave, but they refused. So, he threatened them with the bat. As the suspects attempted to leave, they were met by Bismarck Police and apprehended.
Both have been charged with criminal trespass of a dwelling, a class C felony, and criminal mischief, a B misdemeanor.
