Many people probably spent a good chunk of this week shoveling.
As most people around here know, lost of snow can mean lots of work.
For one company, all this snow is actually a blessing as it's saving them a lot of work.
Ben Smith explains.
The start of the week brought about as much snow as all of last winter.
For people in Lucas Speidel's line of work, this abundance of white brings great joy.
"It's overwhelming, we've wished for this every year and it just never happens so.  For once we finally got what we hoped for," says Lucas Speidel, Huff Hills Lift Manager
It's been two decades since Huff Hills got this much snow, this early in the season.
Besides being every skier or snow boarder's dream, it will save hours and hours of snowmaking time.
"It took a week to make one run open, one or two.  Right now were at about 100% open, we just got a few grassy spots to cover and you can ride wherever you want," says Speidel
Opening day is still about a week a day.  That didn't stop employees from taking a joy ride in about foot of fresh snow.
"Oh yea we were out right away, having fun because that's what we like to do.  Oh it's fun, you feel like you're floating.  Tend to fall a little bit more often.  Not used to it I guess." says Speidel
But this is no time for playing for the people working at Huff Hills.
"Oh we're busy getting everything ready, phone rings constantly, people asking a lot of disappointed people that we're not open this weekend but we have some snowmaking to do yet," says Pat Geiger, office manager
"Still got to make snow, tip of lift, extra snow," says Speidel
And with every run on the hill to open on day one
They're sure to have a line of Skiers and Snowboarders anxious to hit the slopes.
Huff Hills first day is Saturday, December 10th.
