HS FBall: New Salem-Almont envisions another state title game

New Salem-Almont looks to build of their deep run through 2016 playoffs.

The Holsteins fell a couple of points short of winning their first state title since 1986.

They have a solid core group returning, which is a big reason why Coach Steve Kleinjan expects to be back in the championship game.

Coach is actually adding weapons to the squad. He returns Brandon Schroeder, who missed some of last season with an ankle injury.

"It'll go pretty well," Brandon Schroeder said, "I think everyone sort of looks at me as a leader. I don't feel any pressure towards it. I've just always have done it."

New Salem-Almont opens the season against Kidder County on Aug. 18.
