Friday's PM Forecast Update | 5/29

More sunshine, higher rain chances & warming temps are all on the way

From the KX Storm Center:
Across the state it is partly to mostly cloudy. After starting the day with near/below freezing temps across much of the state, expect one more round of chilly conditions. A Freeze Warning has been issued for Adams, Grant & Hettinger counties until 8am MDT. A Frost Advisory has been issued for the rest of Western & Central ND through the same time.

A Freeze Warning means sub-freezing temperatures are highly likely and will become hazardous to sensitive vegetation.

A Frost Advisory means that widespread frost is expected & sensitive outdoor plants may be killed if left uncovered.

After tonight, temps climb back into a more seasonable range with highs in the 60s & 70s this weekend. There will also be higher rain chances. A low pressure system will move from the Central Plains to the Great Lakes region tomorrow. Expect scattered rain across Eastern ND with a few showers possible for Central ND. By Sunday, showers & a few thunderstorms will move into Western & Central ND with our next system. All together, high rain accumulations are not expected through this weekend and into the beginning of the work week. Scattered rain will continue into the beginning of the work week. All the while, temps will be in the mid to upper 60s & lower 70s through Sunday, Monday & Tuesday. After rain & clouds clear out on Tuesday, expect more sunshine and even warmer temps. Highs will climb well into the 70s and a few of our long range models are pointing to some of us getting back into the 80s.
