Construction Starts on New Governor's Residence

The new residence is expected to be finished in late 2018

Construction has officially started on the new Governor's Residence. 
 
Space is being made for the new residence that will now face east to west and will be visible from the Capital. 
John Boyle the facility manager of the residence says legislation was passed to build the residence last session. 
The current residence is around fifty years old and says the new one will be completely handicap accessible. 
 
"The idea is to have it done in October of 2017 the governor will move over in November and in the Spring of 2018 is when we will take all of this down," says John Boyle, Facility Manager at State Capital. 
 
There will also be more fencing around the residence so the Governor and his family can have a little more privacy
