Coll Fball: UMary still young headed into 2017

The University of Mary football team dusted off the helmets and shoulder pads.

Aug. 10 was their first practice ahead of the 2017 season.

It'll be another young team for fourth-year head Coach Josh Kotelnicki.

The Marauders only have five seniors on the roster. The majority of the guys are freshmen and sophomores. Last year, those young players took their lumps in a 1-11 season.

"I don't think it's benefit at all," Kotelnicki said about only having a limited amount of seniors. "It is what it is. The exciting thing is that like I said next year we have essentially have the same team coming back."

UMary's first game is Aug. 31 against Northern Sun Preseason favorite MSU-Mankato.
