Bull Riding: Kolbaba leads after day one

Derek Kolbaba leads after the first day of competition at the PBR Bull Riding Challenge at the Bismarck Event Center on June 16.

20-year-old Weston Hartman from Mandan was unable to register a score after he was bucked off the Bull.

The highlight of the day disappointed. J.B. Mauney went up against the bull Pearl Harbor. Mauney was bucked off. If Mauney had last eight seconds, he would have earned $50,000. Entering the day, Mauney had mixed results with Harbor. In his first attempt, he was successful. On the second attempt, he failed to reach eight seconds. On the third and fourth attempt, they didn't make it out of the chute.

The competition continues tomorrow at 7:30 p.m.
