Malique Rankin was born in Boca Raton, FL and raised in Charleston, SC. She received her bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism with a Spanish minor in just three years from the University of South Carolina. Along with Spanish, Malique also speaks Portuguese and loves any opportunity to use her language skills on and off the job.
Malique joined the KX News team in September 2016 and was promoted to weekend news anchor in May of 2017. During the week, she reports on the political news beat. Her favorite part about reporting is giving a voice to the most unlikely characters and she works hard to tell stories in an unforgettable way.
Malique's long term career goals are to have a job where she can use her language skills to break down barriers with the stories she tells.
Malique anchors the 6 pm and 10 pm news shows on Saturday and Sunday.
